I’m way too tired to say anything funny but I’m bored so I’ve been blog hopping tonight and I’m totally stoked about finding some Music Savvy Moms!
In case you don’t know, I’m a Social Media Manager for indie/unsigned bands. I do this because I love music but I have no musical talent whatsoever so I like working with people who have tons of it. And I also dig social media.

So, other than Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers, I don’t know much about kids music. Even the Munchkin likes the Beatles and Johnny Cash. I’ve always exposed my kids to a wide variety of music. My own parents did and, thanks to them, I have such eclectic tastes, everything from Otis Redding to Pink Floyd.
Anyway, there’s this really cool network over at Music Savvy Mom’s blog of other women who didn’t stop rocking out just because they gave birth. I can tell I’m already going to like that place!

I love exposing my kids to all different kinds of music. They have heard every genre you can think of. They aren't big on rap, love alternative and enjoy classical. It is kind of fun to experience it all through them.
I always wonder which songs they will hear when they're adults and think "Wow, I haven't heard this song since I was a kid!"
Oooh, and we will LOVE having you over there!
My kids were never into kiddie music, either, so I never really had to suffer through much of that (however, I am suffering through Gangsta rap, R & B, and other music that I don't particularly like right now, so it's not like it didn't eventually catch up with me).
You definitely need to submit a Guest DJ Shuffle!
Yeah my oldest got into some of that rap/hip-hop stuff but I didn't mind it much. I actually like rap – Dre, Snoop – but not the stuff she was listening to. I did submit a shuffle via her comment or contact form so I hope she got it!
Oh, Dre and Snoop are fine. I'm just tired of Soulja Boy and stuff like that.
Holy Crap! I DID get it, and I swear I started to reply to it…then Liam (3 year old) probably tried to make the cat eat his carrots or something, I got distracted and it COMPLETELY went out of my head!
(I am normally not such a spaz – I've been off my game the past month or so – I am SOOOOOO sorry!)
I'm off to bed now, but I shall write you a detailed, apologetic and appropriately sappy email tomorrow, mah dear – I PROMISE. And, OMG, DSB, thank you SOOO much for giving me a heads up and sending me over here. (Dude. "The Network" is alive and well over at MSM, as you can see.
) Come and hang with us, AprilTara!
Doesn't having a child make you tone deaf. Come on you know I am kidding. My kid is also into a wide range. I like to thank myself for this. Lol.
I think you lose some of your hearing during the toddler years but it starts to come back once they hit kindergarten.
That's exactly the kind of stuff I don't like! Soulja Boy, T.I., Flo Rida, people like that…so sick of those. I do love me some Fiddy Cent though.
Oh the joy of toddlers! Apparently the first time I tried to send my list it was too long so I had to split it into two comments. Plus my computer is such a piece of crap.
I'm loving MSM! I don't really relate to other moms very well. Plus I work in the music biz so I obviously LOVE music. So to find some other moms who are all about music is just awesome!
