If you’re a fan and you just want to let me know how awesome I am, feel free to skip all of this and proceed directly to the form.
If you’re a stalker and you just want to send me anonymous hate mail, go find a hobby instead. Unless, of course, you want to join the “I Hate April” fan club in which case I will gladly send you the contact information for my ex-husband, my daughter’s father, and their wives and attorneys who can give you their delusional, twisted information.
If you’re a PR person, please read carefully. Prove to me that you can follow directions and I’m more likely to respond.
- I am very picky about the products and services I will review. I did my time as a “Mom blogger” already and I’ve pimped out more snacks and games and toys than I care to count. So please make sure your product is relevant to my lifestyle before you contact me. (In other words, do not pitch me with your baby-wearing slings or $500 jogging strollers. Do not ask me to write about your custom furniture design website or books about married life.) If you’re not sure, feel free to check my About page.
- My opinions can not be bought. Yes, I do enjoy receiving items at no cost to try out and I have a little girl at home who LOVES getting mail. I am also a single mom who usually can not afford to buy my daughter the latest toys or movies or whatever, so doing reviews is one way that I get to “treat” her. But I’ve also got my standards and integrity so I’m not going to show you my gratitude by lying to my readers. And I will always, always disclose any compensation I’ve received if applicable.
- Do not send me an email or any other communication addressed to “Dear Blogger…”. My name is April, I happen to like my name, and I like being called by it.
- If I agree to do a review for you, I will definitely respond and let you know. If you haven’t heard from me in over 2 weeks, I may have lost or deleted your message. If you’ve followed all of my rules but I’m just not interested for whatever reason, like maybe I’m just swamped with work and real life, I will at least let you know. I figure if you were courteous enough to read all of this, then I can return that courtesy with a quick “thanks but maybe some other time” response.
- If I do post a review, please let me know before you use my name, URL or contact info as a testimonial or something similar.
- At this time, I am not offering ad space on my blog. I am using my space here to post links, buttons, badges, etc. to sites, blogs and causes that I truly support or enjoy.
